Types

"SIM Cards" are actually Universal Integrated Circuit Cards (UICC)

SIM consists of hardware and software:

  • In GSM -> HW + SW (SIM app)
  • In UTMS -> SW (Universal SIM (USIM) app)
  • In CDMA -> HW (Removable User Identity Module (R-UIM)) + SW (CDMA SIM (CSIM))
